One Dead Following Apparent Shooting at Dennis Restaurant

DENNIS, Mass. — Dennis Police and investigators from the Cape and Islands District Attorney’s Office are investigating an apparent shooting that left one person dead late Friday night at a restaurant along Route 28.

Emergency responders were called to the Moonfish restaurant at approximately 11:40 p.m. Friday following reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, authorities discovered one victim who was pronounced dead at the scene.

Numerous law enforcement personnel and forensic investigators remained at the restaurant throughout the night and into the early hours of Saturday morning. Investigators were seen processing the scene, collecting evidence, and documenting the area as part of the ongoing investigation.

Their work at the location appeared to conclude around 6:30 a.m. Saturday, after several hours of examination.

Officials have not yet released the identity of the deceased, pending notification of next of kin. No information regarding potential suspects, arrests, or the circumstances leading up to the shooting has been made public.
