Teen Suspect Arrested Following Shooting in Times Square; One Person Hospitalized

NEW YORK CITY — A teenager has been arrested following a shooting in Times Square on Thursday afternoon that left one person injured, according to police.

The incident unfolded in the heart of Manhattan’s busy entertainment district, prompting a swift response from New York City police officers and emergency medical personnel.

Authorities said one victim was struck by gunfire and was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment. The extent of the victim’s injuries has not yet been released.

Following the shooting, the suspect fled the scene on foot. Police quickly launched a search of the area and were able to apprehend the suspect a short distance away near the intersection of 42nd Street and Broadway.
