Man Injured After Alleged Glass Bottle Assault in Burnley; Police Search for Suspect
Police are appealing for information after a man was injured during an alleged assault in Burnley on Thursday afternoon.
Officers were called to Colne Road at approximately 12:20 p.m. on June 18 following reports of a disturbance involving two men.
Upon arrival, police discovered that a man in his 40s had suffered cuts to his back after reportedly being struck with a glass bottle. Emergency responders attended the scene, and the victim received treatment for his injuries.
According to Lancashire Police, it is believed that the victim and the suspect are known to each other. The suspect left the area before officers arrived, and enquiries are currently underway to locate him.
A spokesperson for Lancashire Police said:
“We were called at 12.19 pm today to Colne Road, Burnley, to a report of a disturbance.
“Officers attended, and it was found that a man in his 40s had been assaulted by a man with a glass bottle and suffered cuts to his back.
“It is believed that the two men are known to one another.
“Enquiries are ongoing to trace the suspect.
“Anyone who witnessed the assault or has information, please contact 101, quoting log 0657 of 18th June.”
Police are urging anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident, or who may have captured relevant footage on dashcams, mobile phones, or CCTV systems, to come forward as the investigation continues. Able Street, Burnley.
