Port Moody Secondary School Placed on Lockdown Following Stabbing Incident
PORT MOODY, B.C. — Multiple police officers and ambulance crews responded to an incident near Port Moody Secondary School on Wednesday after reports of a stabbing prompted the school to be placed on lockdown.
According to law enforcement agencies, emergency personnel were dispatched to the area shortly after the incident was reported. Authorities confirmed that Port Moody Secondary School was placed on lockdown as a precautionary measure while officers responded and secured the scene.
Students and staff remained inside the school during the lockdown as police investigated the circumstances surrounding the stabbing. It was not immediately clear how many individuals were involved or the extent of any injuries.
In a statement to parents and guardians, Principal Andrew Lloyd said the safety of students and staff remains the school’s top priority and that school officials were working closely with police throughout the response. 
“We are cooperating fully with law enforcement and following all safety protocols to ensure the well-being of our students and staff,” Lloyd said.
Witnesses reported seeing several police vehicles and ambulances in the vicinity of the school, while officers restricted access to parts of the area during the investigation.
Authorities have not yet released details regarding any suspects or potential arrests. The investigation remains ongoing.
